QuickCodes

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 May 2026

1. Overview

QuickCodes is owned and operated by Quick Pages Pty Ltd. References to "QuickCodes", "we", "us", and "our" mean Quick Pages Pty Ltd.

This Privacy Policy explains how QuickCodes collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when people create accounts, manage QR codes, or scan QR code redirect links.

QuickCodes currently provides account registration, authentication, profile management, QR code creation and management, public QR redirects, and scan statistics.

2. Information we collect

When you create and use an account, we collect your name, email address, password, selected time zone, email verification status, remember-me token, profile updates, account timestamps, and authentication session information.

Passwords are stored as password hashes. We do not store your plain-text password.

When you create QR codes, we collect the QR code name, destination URL, generated redirect slug, active or inactive status, owner account, and creation and update timestamps.

When someone scans or visits a QuickCodes redirect link, we collect scan information including the QR code scanned, IP address, browser or device user agent, referring page if provided, and scan time.

For authentication and security, the application may store session records that include a session identifier, related user ID where available, IP address, user agent, session payload, and last activity time. Password reset tokens may also be stored when password reset is requested.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, send verification and password reset emails, provide profile and time zone settings, create QR code redirects, redirect scanners to destination URLs, show scan statistics, prevent misuse, troubleshoot issues, maintain the service, and comply with legal obligations.

4. QR scans and destination websites

When a person scans a QR code, QuickCodes processes the scan and redirects the person to the destination URL selected by the QR code owner. The destination website is separate from QuickCodes and may collect information under its own privacy policy.

QR code owners can see scan activity for QR codes they own. Current scan activity may include the scan time, IP address, user agent, and referrer.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

QuickCodes uses cookies and similar browser storage for essential application functions such as login sessions, CSRF protection, and remember-me authentication. The current application does not include production analytics or advertising tracking code in the tracking component.

6. Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate QuickCodes, such as hosting, database, email delivery, logging, security, and infrastructure providers. Those providers may only process information for the purposes of providing services to us.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, to enforce our terms, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, restructure, or sale of assets.

7. Email

QuickCodes may send account-related emails such as email verification, password reset, and security or service messages. These messages are necessary for account operation and cannot always be opted out of while keeping an active account.

8. Data retention

We keep account, QR code, scan, session, and password reset information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you delete your account, the application deletes your account record and the QR codes linked to it. Scan records linked to those QR codes are also deleted from the application database. Some information may remain in backups, logs, email systems, or records where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including password hashing, authenticated account areas, CSRF protection, access checks for QR code management, and standard Laravel security controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices and rights

You can access and update your profile information, change your password, manage your QR codes, deactivate or delete QR codes, and delete your account through the application.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. You can contact us to make a privacy request.

11. Children

QuickCodes is not intended for children under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to QuickCodes, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

12. International processing

Information may be stored or processed in the locations where we or our service providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws that differ from the laws in your location.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as QuickCodes changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

14. Contact
